R&D Specialist – Performance Polymers

As R&D Specialist within the Performance Polymer group, you are responsible for developing new and improving existing polymers. You apply a creative and scientific approach to analyze problems, formulate theoretical concepts, and design well-founded experiments. This will be done considering the market requirements, available production techniques, and Kaneka’s core technology.

As an R&D Specialist, you carry out research projects independently in line with the vision and strategy of the (research) group. 

This includes:

• Setting up and conducting experiments within the scope of the project.

• Performing analyses and interpreting data.

• Reporting findings and defining next steps considering the project timeline.

• Providing technical expertise in response to customer or production unit inquiries.

• Staying up to date with new technologies and industry trends.

• Collaborating and taking responsibilities in projects on a global level.

• Proposing and executing new investments within the available lab context

Your profile

• PhD or Master's degree in (polymer) chemistry or Chemical Engineering.

• Knowledge of polymer chemistry and relevant analytical techniques.

• Fluent in Dutch and English. Proficiency in other languages is a plus.

• A team player with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Experience in project management is a plus.
