Kaneka Belgium NV is a subsidiary of Kaneka Corporation, a leading technology-driven chemical company, with headquarters in Osaka and Tokyo, Japan.  Kaneka offers a wide range of products and has its own worldwide manufacturing and marketing organization. Business activities span a broad spectrum of markets, from chemicals, functional plastics, food products, life science, synthetic fibers to electrical and electronic materials.

THREE PRODUCTION UNITS

Founded in 1970, as the first overseas subsidiary of the Japanese chemical company Kaneka Corporation, Kaneka Belgium now has three production sites, operating in the field of functional and foamed plastics. Our headquarters and plant are located in Westerlo, Belgium.

SOLAR BUSINESS

Since 2009 Kaneka Belgium is also actively involved in the Solar Energy business.  

Kaneka’s European solar cell lab is established at the IMEC campus in Leuven, enabling our researchers to have access to the most advanced research infrastructure. The successful partnership between Kaneka and IMEC has resulted in the development of a new generation heterojunction silicon solar cells.

PLANT IN WESSELING, GERMANY

Since 2011 we have extended our production platform for acrylic impact modifiers with a plant in Wesseling, Germany. Our subsidiary, Kaneka Modifiers Deutschland GmbH, produces acrylic polymers and acrylic binders for plastisols.

Since 1st October 2015, Kaneka Belgium NV is horizontally structured under the Kaneka Europe Holding Company NV.
